Join this session to explore curriculum, activities, insurance, funding suggestions, and more for educators interested in starting a drone class at their school. Dr. Amanda Bastoni, CTE Director of the Nashua Technology Center North Campus, and Erin Knoetig, Photography Teacher for more than 13 years, serve as your facilitators leading discussions and sharing lessons learned. Hear insights about drones and careers connected to drones during a breakout panel session with experts in the field including: Dr. Eric Frauwirth, Administrator of the Bureau of Career Development for the State of NH; James Brough, National Aviation and Space Education Program Manager at the FAA; and Justin Kates, Director of Emergency Management for the City of Nashua. Finally, meet students who participated in the drone program at Nashua and have the opportunity to speak with them about their experience. This sessions is hands-on, so come prepared to participate, fly drones, take notes, and ask questions. This workshop is offered in both BYOD and MITI formats. The registration fee for the MITI format includes the cost of the workshop AND the device/resources. The BYOD format includes only the cost of the workshop, the attendee is solely responsible for securing the required resources listed on the website.
