Come embark on a journey with National Geographic and take part in our free Educator Certification Program. This professional learning opportunity supports pre-K through 12 formal and informal educators to become innovative leaders who teach students about the world, empowering them to succeed and to make it a better place. Benefits of certification include access to resources, mentorship, and leadership opportunities with National Geographic; connection to a community of like-minded educators; and professional recognition. During this workshop, complete Phase 1 of the certification process, diving into our Learning Framework, which covers the attitudes, skills, and knowledge areas that embody the attributes of an explorer. Discover a rich source of assets with a global and geographic perspective and learn how to effectively integrate those resources into their lessons. Improve upon your visual storytelling skills to build confidence in sharing more with your community about your students' successes, as well as your own.Participants may choose to complete Phases 2 & 3 online, integrating relevant resources into their lessons. Courses run in the Winter, Spring, and Fall and are self paced. It takes educators approximately 20 hours to complete the course from start to finish.
