Learn how you can use NHEEP student workshops and curriculum equipment kits to facilitate STEM lessons and units in the classroom. Use hands-on STEM equipment to explore the basics of how electricity works. Play with a Faraday's coil, hand crank generators, and our specially designed NHEEP generators to see if you can power things like lights and motors. Experiment with renewable energy technologies; set up wind turbines and solar panels and see how we can maximize the energy produced by each. We will briefly discuss the benefits and impacts of various types of energy. Learning about energy and our usage can help us make more sustainable choices for ourselves and our planet. (Presenter(s): Angie Krysiak, Energy Educator, NH Energy Education Project, and Aubrey Nelson, NHEEP)
