This session will cover the topic of financial literacy and the growing importance of educating students to be financially responsible citizens. As students spend more time on the web, educators are being asked to address topics like cyber bullying, social media responsibility, validating resources and online privacy with their students. This is why EVERFI provides educators with engaging, online learning resources in topics such as balancing screen time versus offline time, STEM readiness, and cyber bullying. Each course is standards-aligned and free of charge to schools. In this interactive session you will learn how to facilitate inclusive, structured, and data-driven Socratic Seminars and Fish Bowl Discussions using the Parlay Live RoundTable. This collaborative discussion activity is a great way for students to practice their academic speaking and listening skills, learn to build on their classmates ideas, challenge ideas respectfully, asking thought-provoking questions, and driving the conversation forward as a team. Finally, we will explore how to analyze automatic engagement data, so we can reflect on our performance as a class and assess / provide feedback to individual performers.
