EVERFI's online resources help educators to prepare students for the real world challenges they need for life—skills in social-emotional learning, health and wellness, personal finance, bullying prevention, and career exploration. Financial Literacy for the 21st Century (Grades 4-12)
This session will cover the topic of financial literacy and the growing importance of educating students to be financially responsible citizens. By utilizing the no-cost resources provided by EVERFI, teachers will see how using technology to assist in learning the concepts of financial literacy will make them more financially sound and have fun in the process. A Digital Approach to SEL, Health & Wellness (Grades 2-12)
In the 21st Century, teaching foundational SEL and health concepts in a meaningful way is essential for students' overall success. EVERFI provides free, digital programs that can help teach those important concepts in an engaging way. This session will highlight EVERFI's FREE digital resources surrounding topics like: empathy, managing relationships, mental wellness, bullying prevention, healthy lifestyles and nutrition, alcohol education, and prescription drug abuse prevention. As students spend more time on the web, educators are being asked to address topics like cyber bullying, social media responsibility, validating resources and online privacy with their students. This is why EVERFI provides educators with engaging, online learning resources in topics such as balancing screen time versus offline time, STEM readiness, and cyber bullying. Each course is standards-aligned and free of charge to schools. This collaborative discussion activity is a great way for students to practice their academic speaking and listening skills, learn to build on their classmates ideas, challenge ideas respectfully, asking thought-provoking questions, and driving the conversation forward as a team. Finally, we will explore how to analyze automatic engagement data, so we can reflect on our performance as a class and assess / provide feedback to individual performers.
